10 Year Reunion

10 Years.  How has it been 10 years since I graduated high school?!  Crazy.

My 10 year reunion was this past weekend!  I'm going to be honest...I was nervous.    I didn't know what to expect. I have kept up with several people but a lot of these people I hadn't seen since May 30, 2007.  The nerves were so silly because it was SO MUCH FUN!  Jared & I had an absolute blast.  He graduated the year after me so he was friends with me  (we also dated in high school for a short time - I'll have to share that story one day!) and a lot of people in my class!

Saturday morning, we had a tour of our old high school!  We didn't have a very big group for this part but we had a lot of fun.  Our class was 231 people I believe and we went to a pretty large high school!  After we left, it went through a $24 million renovation with a new gym and all kinds of fine arts additions (including a recording booth...crazy!).  It was really neat to check it all out!

Honestly, I'm glad I was there before all the fancy stuff!  We had an amazing high school experience without all of that.  What shocked me most about this tour was the complete lack of books in the library.  There were some but a very low amount.  All the technology going into schools is great in some ways but I hate it in others!  The library used to be so cozy & full of books and now it's...cold.  I'm old school!  Give me all the paper books from the library :)

So many memories cheering on this field!!  I wish I could go back for just one night, throw on my cheerleading uniform (that would magically still fit lol) and relive a Friday night on this field!  Just one though, I love adult life and being a teenager was fun but exhausting.

That night, we grabbed dinner with some friends of ours before we headed to the country club.  Lots of laughs with old friends!

Love these ladies!

After we snapped a few photos, I stuck my phone in my purse and didn't really touch it again.  I just wanted to be in the moment with these special people!  It was more fun than I could have predicted.  So many laughs, stories and memories were remembered and new ones were made!  It was so fun hearing what everyone was up to now!  Everyone is doing really well and that made my heart very happy.

This one is blurry but it pretty much sums up the night! I'm so glad that Jared and I have lots of high school memories and friends that we share because it makes nights like this even more special and fun.  Can't wait for the next one!

  5. Can't believe it will be 14 for me! But I never went to mine! I moved to NC and didn't feel like going back to NY... sometimes I wish I would've though.

  6. I love your red top. I'm with you... there is a place for technology, but a good cozy library is a must!

  7. How fun!! I'm with you - all the technology kind of makes me sad. I don't think it's necessary... never mind what they are spending in athletics facilities (90 million dollars for HS football... what?!). I'm a paper book person through and through! I've heard that reunions may become a thing of the past because of social media... will be interesting to see what happens with mine!
